An absolutely continuous probability distribution on the real line has a probability density function f with respect to Lebesgue measure λ: for every Borel set A, P(X∈A)=∫Af(x)dx. Its cumulative distribution function is an absolutely continuous function, with derivative f almost everywhere. The probability density function and cumulative distribution function example under probability distribution illustrates this class.
