Newtonian gravitational potential ($\Phi$)

The Newtonian gravitational potential is the potential energy per unit test mass. Outside a spherical mass $M$ it is $\Phi (r)=-GM/r$ after choosing zero at infinity, and the gravitational acceleration is $-\nabla \Phi$.
